SOB Members Release Standings

*Changes to SOB Release Contest.

During the course of this year a lot of members have voiced concerns regarding the SOB Release Contest.  At the October SOB board meeting the board went over all those concerns and devised changes to the SOB Release Contest to address those concerns.  The new changes are listed below and will take effect for the 2011 SOB Release Contest and beyond.

1. A new division for Guides will be setup.  The determination for a guide will be any SOB member who is a licensed Guide, Captain, or is paid on a regular basis to take people fishing.  This new category will have only one award issued for largest release for that year.  Guides CAN ONLY enter fish that they have caught themselves - No clients fish can be submitted as a release for that guide.

2. After two 1st Place finishes in the Masters Division by an SOB member that member will no longer be eligible for plaques from the Masters Division.  SOB Masters Division members can still submit their releases and win the division, but if they have received two 1st Place wins already in the Masters Division then they will only receive a certificate for any additional 1st place finishes in the Masters Division.

3. Ethics Clause - Multiple complaints from several members regarding a release submission(s) without verifiable witness and photographic documentation can be cause for SOB Release Contest disqualification for that submission(s).  Any complaints will be reviewed by the SOB board members and the SOB board members as a whole will decide on the legitimacy of the release submission(s).

You can now enter your fish on Muskies Inc. website.  Click here for instructions.  You must submit fish to the Lunge log within 30 days of catch, unless arrangements have been made ahead of time for those who will be away for more than 30 days.

South of the Border 2011 Release Standings

Releases must be turned in within 30 days of catch to be eligible for Release Standing Points and must be at least of 30 inches in length.  Muskies Inc. International has stated that they will start to enforce this policy for all fish submitted through their website and by those submitted by the local chapter's Release Chairman.  So please submit your catches online or be sure to mail your release forms to our chapter's Release Chairman, no later than 30 days after they were caught.

Lunker of the Month.  Click on a month to see a photo of the fish when available.  Releases must be turned in within 30 days of catch to be eligible for Lunker of the Month Award and must be at least of 30 inches in length.  Releases do not have to be submitted to the Lung Log to qualify for the Lunker of the Month, Fox Chain Lunker, or Traveling Trophy Contest but they do have to be submitted to the Release Chairman within 30 days of catch.
